52 OFFICES PART 8:

Many New Yorkers avoid Times Sq. It’s too busy, a tourist trap and an extremely successful one at that. Like Londoners, New Yorkers also moan about tourists.

Personally I like tourists. So today after an early piece of business uptown I decided to make Times Sq Office No 8.

Today’s task is copywriting, no machines just an iPhone, Embassy Pen and notebook.

I sit and watch the tourists, bewildered, excited, watchful parents, great gangling euro teens, groups of Asians with cameras and smiley face hand signs.

They are all my co-workers today along with a number of Hello Kitties and Elmos. I’ve worn these costumes before and they are hell on a warm day today. A Hello Kitty gives me a friendly hug. I can’t help but smile.

Today’s office fact:

Formerly named Longacre Square, it was renamed in April 1904 after the New York Times moved its headquarters to the Times Building, now called One Times Square.

RELIGIOUS IDEA 2:

Looks like Rev John lives in be same places as Sister Maria.

Amazing how two people with the same skills live in the sam gaff. They can heal people of all ills (cancer? AIDS?),remove bad luck from the body and generally make everything ok.

GAMING IDEA:

Part of my Nintendo handheld collection minus the purple GBA original and the 1989 original GameBoy.

I dropped the ‘89 GB in the bath and it still worked.

Pictures from the bottom,
Anti-clockwise:

Enamel Navy Blue DS Lite (Japanese import).
Gorgeous hardware.

All black GBA Micro (Japanese import). Bought a few years ago when I realized I hated touch gaming and wanted some straight up no nonsense d-pad Mario action.

GBA SP - took this everywhere at one point. Haven’t touched it in about 8 years. Turned it on just after I took this pic. Still works.

The new 3DS XL. Love MK7 and ZOoT but not sold on the millions of “bells and whistles “; AR Games, 3 cameras, online integration, spot pass, music player, “updates” Etc etc….

Think it’s time Nintendo made a phone / DS…

BILLBOARD IDEA:

I’m thoroughly bored with left/right wing banter.

I’m with Steve Jobs - there are constructive and destructive forces that run across party lines.

I’d love to see these people read the Guardian, they’d have a fit :)

52 OFFICES IDEA: PART 7The Soldiers and Sailors, Grand Army Plaza, a National Historic Landmark at the entrance of Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. Spent the day in the park, running the business off iPhone.Beautifull day, and a great mix of relaxation, contemplation, exercise and stimulation. Arriving via Brompton I’d circle the park, take a seat on the warm grass, get some work and correspondence done, cycle the park, do some work and repeat. This kept my brain lively and my attention focused. Think I may be onto something with the “on again off again” work/exercise routine. Might be a book in it :)Further reading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Army_Plaza
