TEACHING IDEA:

I hosted my first Skillshare class last night. The topic was “exploring the creative process.”

Creative thinking is becoming a big area as our “knowledge based economy” grows and the importance of the creative class with it.

Many people, smarter and more astute than me, have weighed in on the topic of creativity. Still, I have a lifetime of knowledge and experience to share.

Ten students rocked up to Cunning NYC. A good mixed bunch: strategy people, agency folk, designers and even a lawyer.

I was more nervous than I would be at a corporate gig. These were “real” people who were giving up time and money to hear what I had to say. I’m guessing they needed some kind of help or inspiration. Quite a responsibility!

Anyway, I got a great email this morning from Chinwe:

“To say that I received a wealth of insight from class last night is an understatement.  But even more important was your genuine willingness to offer your time,  advice, and resources to a novice like myself in search of guidance on how to break into the industry.  I really appreciate your patience and support.”

Wow. How nice is that?

The next one I’m doing is on grassroots and guerrilla marketing:
